This is a very scary post to write because nothing is real yet and it could all fall apart. But this Type A personality is going to have to get used to those feelings because that’s the life of an entrepreneur.
This summer, my partner Geoff and I, are opening a boutique bed and breakfast, called Pangea House, in the heart of the Thousand Islands (Ontario, Canada).
We’re taking our love of travel and adventure, and transforming it into a global oasis for our guests.
Pangea, in early geologic time, was a supercontinent that incorporated almost all the landmasses on Earth. It began to break apart about 175 million years ago and form the seven continents we know today: North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
The world comes (back) together at Pangea House in the small town of Gananoque in the summer of 2021.
The ink is not dry on the sale of my first home in Toronto and nothing becomes official until the end of January 2021, but everything is in the place for us to move from Canada’s largest city to Ontario’s cutest hamlet.
So why risk jinxing myself?
Because an adventure begins long before you get on the plane – or before you open the doors on your brand new business. The ideation, the research, the planning, and ALL the feelings start long before. And if this is truly the journal of my life adventures, then I need to take you through the full ride.
Starting with falling in love with Gananoque and the house…
